New ACCI President
New President Appointed: David Steytler
On Thursday 13 December, Albany Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) held the December Executive meeting, where David Steytler was appointed as the new President. David has held the role of ACCI Treasurer for the past two years and is currently playing a central role in the Strategic Plan Review 2018 working group.
David is an exceptional communicator and is very comfortable working behind the scenes to promote and protect the chamber. He understands the purpose of the chamber and the obstacles that need to be overcome to ensure the chamber will thrive in future.
“I am confident that David will lead the Chamber in continuing to serve members and the business community to the very best of his ability by utilising his strategic & governance skills,” said Michael Clark, acting CEO of the Albany Chamber.
There was also a change in the positions of Vice President and Treasurer. Rebecca Williss will take a leave of absence next year to welcome in a new member to her family. Rebecca will return later in the year as a much-respected board member. Russell Hare has taken on the role as Vice President. Russell has been working closely with David in the working group to review our Strategic Plan. Russell brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board in the retail sector, advertising and has been involved with many NFPs in the past with a good understanding of Governance and transparency.
Kerry Fry has come onto the board this year and has taken up the role as Treasurer due to David stepping up into the president's role. Kerry is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in personal and corporate restructuring, insolvency and turnaround management, working with a diverse range of industries.
