The future of your Chamber

As you are aware, we have been collecting information from our members and key stakeholders as part of our strategic review of the Chamber. We would like to thank the many people that have had input into this process.

While there is still some work to go in using the information collected to assist us in preparing a revised strategic plan, we remain on track for finalising our review by the end of January.

Our next steps will be:

  • A Board workshop to give input based on key areas worked up from member and stakeholder input

  • Staff interviews and feedback

  • Recommendations developed by the working group and external experts based on the above input and research

  • The recommendations will be presented to an expanded focus group to review and develop recommendations into key areas and give an order of priority

  • Recommendations circulated to members for feedback

  • An optimal operational structure will be designed for the Chamber to deliver the strategic outcomes agreed upon in the review and strategic plan

  • A funding plan to support the structure and strategy be completed

  • Recruitment of key roles

  • Implementation of the new Chamber model

In the meantime, we have attached a summary of the information collected so far, from which we will focus our future direction in the strategic plan. While some of the information collected relates to operational initiatives that the members would like to see, the Board will be focusing at a strategic level which will flow into an operational plan prepared by Chamber staff.

We will continue to update you as we progress. Should you have any queries or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
